Did you know that some medications that your Veterinarian prescribes for your pet can be obtained at your local pharmacy? Below you will find Tips on the information you will need to obtain from your veterinarian to provide to your local pharmacist.

  • Is the medication VET ONLY Drug?  There are times that the medication being prescribed are only used for animals and can not be substituted with a human medication. Talk to your pharmacist and veterinarian to see if this is an option for your pet. 
  • Name of Medication
  • Dosage being ordered
  • Route of medication
  • How often your pet will need to take the medication
  • Quantity needed
  • Ask your pharmacist if they have discount cards available that you can use towards your pets prescription.
  • Ask your veterinarian if they have a price matching policy. Some Veterinarians will work with you.
